SUMMARY OF CHAPTER 11

Summary of Chapter 11, Bhagavad Gita, Our Legends
The Universal Form, Bhagavad Gita, Our Legends

CHAPTER-11, THE UNIVERSAL FORM

In this chapter, Lord Krishna establishes his divinity, he gives a divine vision to Arjuna and reveals his Vishwaroopa. He says that his all-encompassing human form is the initial form of God. Man can see this form only through pure devotion.

Now Arjuna is fully convinced that Krishna is due to all causes and is present in the heart of every living being as a divine being. Arjuna also knows that apart from being the cause of all origin and holocaust, these remain separate.

Arjuna understood that it is not possible for a normal being to understand the infinite unless one goes to their shelter and does devotion. Krishna is not bound to reveal himself, so those who are confident of their contemplative power, they can't see Krishna.

Lord Krishna tells Arjuna that whatever you want to see in this time and future is going to show him this cosmic form, but you cannot see Me with your eyes, so I am giving you divine vision. Yet because Arjuna wanted to see it, the Lord gives him the particular vision required to see that universal form.

Arjuna sees everything in the universe, he sees that Bhishma Drona Karan and all the sons of Dhritarashtra and their soldiers and Arjuna's soldiers are being destroyed here, here Krishna presents himself as an omnipotent Kaal in addition to only a few Pandavas war. All those who came to the land will be devoured by them.

Arjuna was not in favour of the fight, and he thought it was better not to fight then there would be no frustration. In reply, the Lord is saying that even if he did not fight, every one of them would be destroyed, for that was His plan. If Arjun stopped fighting they would die in another way. Death could not be checked, even if he did not fight. In fact they were already dead. Time is destruction, and all manifestations are to be vanquished by the desire of the Supreme Lord. That is the law of nature.

The purpose of Bhagavad Gita is to show that no matter how many karmas are performed but it should not have attachment towards their fruit, this fruit should be offered to Krishna itself. Man should not indulge in his karma fruit and offer it to Krishna. Only the remaining thing should be accepted as Prasad. Krishna devotee knows that man is suffering because of forgetting his relationship with Krishna, but the pure devotee keeps on serving God.

The summary is that Krishna With his fleeting Vishwaroop as well as Kaal who is going to devour everything and even the quadrilateral Vishwaroop is visible. In this way, Krishna is the origin of all these forms. The Brahma Samhita states that those who are enamored with the beautiful form of Krishna in love or devotion can always see them in their heart, so man should understand that chapter 11 implies that Krishna's form is paramount and the ultimate essence.
